Guest seatalhambra Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 HiI have just had my read pads changed on my 2000 alhambra by my ford quick fit guys. The pads have rear sensors which apparantly were causing the light on the dash computer. The light is still on?? after collection and the garage says this happens sometime and the computer will sort itself out soon?? Any thoughs or better stories. not to sure weather to belive them. i know the front pads are fairly worn but they said they were ok for now thanksian Quote
gazza007 Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Don't think so, mine only had them on the fronts as a friend did all of mine.Best of all did the lot for Quote
NikpV Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Ours were fine - no brake pad light- until the 30k service, had them changed then ping on comes the brake pad warning light, Ford then changed the pads (story related elsewhere on the site) said it was fine - drove down the road and ... ping brake pad warning light so they then changed the instrument pod (apparently known fault on early facelift gals - we had very early pod). The old lady then managed 110kph across the forecourt!!! They changed it back and Ford have been working on a fix for the instrument cluster. We are still waiting for a replacement (as are some others on this site) to correct this and/or fuel gauge problems.I think these link to some of the posts.. fuel gauge problems brake pad warning light Quote
Guest seatalhambra Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Bit of success. i have just been grovling around in the rain under the front nearside wheel and found the sensor wire / socket. On unplugging I joined the car end terminals and the light went out! surprise surpirise! shame that both sets of pads went at once. Next question is how thick is the minimum for the discs? will add new questionian Quote
Topbloke Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 front disc's min thickness 21mm rears 8mm  Quote
